Learning to Write 和 写作 to Learn

写作 is an invitation to change the world. Learn about interesting topics, investigate your personal 和 communal literacy practices, 建立协作技能，扩展你的写作工具包，以实现道德和有效的写作, both in 和 beyond the classroom.

As a program, we aim to accomplish two main goals:

  1. 第一个, we provide instruction in written 和 oral 沟通, which is a required component of the university's Core Curriculum. Our courses focus on developing ideas 和 expressing them clearly, considering the effect of the message, fostering underst和ing 和 building skills to communicate persuasively. 具体地说, we promote the Texas state Core Objectives of critical thinking, 沟通, teamwork 和 personal responsibility.

写作项目为第一年的写作提供三门主要课程:英语100, English 1301 和 English 1302. In a typical semester, we teach anywhere from 55-70 sections of writing across our campuses, dual credit partnerships 和 modalities.
